Better Know a Douchebag - Week 2

Al0t of people were pretty certain that Brandon Jacobs launching his helmet into the stands would make him a shoe in for the Douchebag of the Week for week 2... but OH, how WRONG those people would be. Brandon Jacobs did launch his helmet into the stands, 10 rows up to be exact... but noone got hurt. No harm, no foul I say. But a Douchebag did make themselves known during this incident. SECURITY. After a Colt's fan secured the discarded helmet, Security officials literally "ripped" it from the guys hands. WTF Security? Thats a hell of a souviner you just deprived a fan of. He already risked his life and avoided certain death when the helmet was flung at him... don't you think he deserves the damn helmet?

So Security officials must be some real douchebags right? They pale in comparison to this weeks Better Know a Douchebag recipient.... Rufus the Bobcat from Ohio University

At the beginning of the OU/OSU game, Rufus tackled and assaulted Brutus the Buckeye. Not only did he tackle the other mascot, but he preceeded to beat him unmerciful. OSU's football team here, seen too busy stretching to rescue their beloved mascot... or are they praying? Hard to tell... either way, clearly tied up doing something game related went on to seek vengence by winning 43-7 over the Bobcats. Perhaps the Bobcats should take tackling lessons from their mascot next time.

The kid inside the Bobcat suit had this to say:

In fact, the guy in the suit, Brandon Hanning, told the Ohio student newspaper he tried out for the job with the explicit intention of assaulting Brutus this year – then dropped out after landing the gig. He's currently a student at nearby Hocking College. And he is not sorry at all: "It was the whole reason I tried out (to be Rufus) last year," he told The Post. "I knew we were going back to OSU this year, and I wanted to tackle Brutus." A true American success story, this kid.

So there ya have it, all the way from the ranks of college ball, we have this weeks "Better Know a Douchebag" winner.... way to go kid!
