Better Know a Douchebag - Week 1

Yes... I am aware its only Monday morning. Yes, I know that 4 teams still play tonight. Yet already prior to the Monday Night double header, we have some fine, fine canidates for the coveted title of "Douchebag" for week 1.

What will probably be the first of many attempts to be the Douchebags of the week, here we Bengal Wideouts, Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens in the lockeroom during the game against the Patriots right before halftime... unfortunately for these two douche wunnabe's their team was still out on the field playing. Nice try, but not good enough, your team was never in it anyways.

Here we have Garrett Hartley who's two fieldgoal attempts went just like his hair... wide right. Fortunately, Garrett is spared that his team pulled out a win and didn't lose like this guy...

Calvin Johnson. The wide out of the Lions went from Hero to Zero in 1.2 seconds when he snagged a ball in the endzone to win the game, only to not hold onto the ball and rob his team of its first road victory in 3 years. But WAIT! HE WAS ROBBED! No... actually he wasn't, not according to Rule 8, Section 1, Article 4

"If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without contact by an opponent), he must maintain control of the ball after he touches the ground, whether in the field of play or the end zone. If he loses control of the ball, and the ball touches the ground before he regains control, the pass is incomplete. If he regains control prior to the ball touching the ground, the pass is complete."

Sorry Calvin, buts its ok, this is a pretty obscure rule and we all thought you were robbed to, so I am going to rob you for real and give this weeks "Better Know a Douchebag" to none other than fellow wide out...

Randy Moss. Randy and the Patriots trounced the Bengals on Sunday and watched Wideout Wes Welker make an outstanding return after a questionable off season surgery. So after the game, how does Moss respond? In typical Douchebag fasion (both literally and figurately)

“I think in the New England area, I don’t want to say here in the organization, but a lot of people don’t want to see me do good,” said Moss, who caught five balls for 59 yards in a 38-24 win over the Bengals. “And the reason why, I don’t know and I really don’t care.”

“Sometimes, you want your boss to tell you that you are doing a good job,” Moss said. “If you do a good job and think you are doing a good job, you want to be appreciated. I really don’t think that, me personally, that I’m appreciated.”

Way to go, Randy, way to get the season started off right, by taking alot of good momentum for your team and dragging into the mud. Maybe you didn't notice the scoreboard... you frickin won! Go celebrate with your teammates, but for fuck sake get off the damn microphone and learn some damn English...
